How to stay focussed on the job?

We all know the problem that we need holiday.

We can't stay focussed anymore, we loose the motivation to give the daily energy to the sales team, or even worse, the customers.

• Don't be a slave

Don't be tempted to check your cell phone and emails after work hours. Everyone is entitled to rest and relaxation.

Work hard, but never too hard. Your motivation for a deal cannot be calculated in hours you work on it, but rather how intently you work on a task.

The details must be right. You can only make good decisions and anticipate and foresee risks if you are sufficiently rested.

• Weekends are weekends

Enjoy your time off. There is absolutely no shame in that. Clearing your head can give you new insights. Worrying is not necessary for anything, and does not help you find solutions.

• Go on holiday - explore new destinations

Since my father died in 2011, I continue his journey to Compostella. Hiking with the backpack in Spain.

Every year, 1 week

Where I ended last year, I pick up again

No luxury hotels, but basic hostels.

No taxi's, but endless roads in nature

No fancy restaurants, but basic meals

I already reached Santiago de Compostella by the Camino Fancès, and started all over again from the Via de Plata (starting in Sevilla)

My boots walked already more than 1750km

Thanks to complete deconection, I find easily new ideas and inspiration
